Welcome to Division 5's July 2008 issue of Perspectives. My name is Richard Andreatta, and I am the new Editor of Perspectives on Speech Science and Orofacial Disorders. I am an associate professor at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Rehabilitation Science where I teach and do research in communication neuroscience. I am honored to have been selected by the Steering Committee to serve as Editor of this publication, and I sincerely promise to try my best to live up to their confidence in me and produce a worthy periodical for our Division. It is my intent to continue the strong tradition of providing the Division 5 readership with articles that are written by the foremost experts in their respective areas of speech science and orofacial disorders.
