Since the late 1950s, the Department of Communication Disorders at the University of Minnesota has offered a course with primary focus on the nature of cleft lip and palate and the structural and speech sequelae of the cleft condition.   1. The nature of cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial disorders,

  2. Communication and other problems associated with craniofacial disorders and other oral, dental, and occlusal conditions,

  3. Relationships between speech and oral-pharyngeal structure and,

  4. Clinical assessment and management of communication problems associated with craniofacial disorders.
